Expository Inspiration

This blog is for the creative writing of Nathaniel Halstead. This is not meant for exhibition, but rather that the reader would be inspired to glorify God through further study of His Word. Each poem is based off of a Bible verse, that would be a great starting point for a study!

  • Confidence

    Where does my confidence belong?
Not in my works, my creed, my song.

There is one work in which I trust,
Untouched by time, by moth, by rust.

Upon the cross the work was done,
By grace unblemished through the Son.

Eternal life in Him is found
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound.

  • A Hole in My Roof

I invited Him into my house,
Introduced Him to my child, my spouse

    People came from all around,
To hear Him the gospel expound

    My family was certainly blessed,
But were blind to the coming test

    Coming down from above,
My roof was torn, but he found Christ’s love

    A crippled man lowered down
Until he rested on the ground

But now there’s a hole in my roof
