The Law to me was crushing
Acting in my own will
Had made me deathly ill
Sin and Law were rushing
my immortal soul to Hell

But the Law of the Spirit
Spared me from Hell deserved
That Law my sentence served
It revealed what I held dearest
Jesus my awaited Christ
