  • Pride/Glory

    Pride/Glory

My pride is at odds with your glory
Two sides of the same scale
    Showing to whom I avail
    Higher

    The higher I esteem myself
Makes you lower in my mind
    Looking back I don’t find
    You looking up

When you found me in my sin
As a beggar for your grace
I looked up at your face
Above me, in your rightful place

  • The Love of Money

    The Love of Money

How much do you love wealth?
Enough to poison your water and sky?
Enough to leave children to die?
Enough to endanger your own health?

Like a dragon on a glittering hoard
Shutting your ears to all pleas
    Seeing poverty as a disease
The poor are not who are deplored

Find again the fear of God
    Not wealth, but Him adore
Only in Him your soul secure
In all else evil is found
