    A Poem on Psalm 11

    Psalm 11:1

    Under this threat of destruction

my heart has its own instruction

Fly not as a crow to the hills

fleeing from this wicked world’s ills

    I fought not Goliath alone

The Lord of Hosts brings me Shalom

    Psalm 11:2

Shadows sneaking in on the side

    Seeking God’s kingdom to divide

    Scheming in secret about us

In God alone you place your trust?

Their arrows fly to pierce your heart

In your peace I can have no part

    11:3

When the foundations of the earth shift,

Will faith in sovereign God drift?

What can a single righteous man do

When the long dreaded destruction comes true?

    11:4

In His holy temple He stands

For communion of God and man

He is still on His holy throne

    Heaven’s power is His alone

    Nothing ever escapes His sight

He justly divides dark from light

    11:5

    Yahweh tries even beloved light

The light that brings joy to His sight

How then could the wicked’s fate

Be less than Hell if them He hates?

Those that love violence have no place

Unless they take His offered grace

    11:6

The just LORD’S fearsome cup of wrath

Is poured upon the wicked path

    A rain of calamity there

Justice through wind and fire and snare

For sins against the righteous LORD

All of these are man’s just reward

    11:7

    Yahweh is the foundation stone

    Of righteousness, and He alone

He’s loving toward a holy man

Made holy through His perfect plan

When He looks upon you and me

    He sees Jesus at Calvary

  • A Poem on Psalm 2

    A Poem on Psalm 2

There lies in the seed of Adam

A white hot rage against their God

    Their wicked minds cannot fathom

That to a sinner’s Hell they trod

    Wicked rulers plot together

    Against the world’s only Savior

They give no thought to the aether

    No restraints to misbehavior

“Even less than restraint!” They say

”The Anointed one binds us all,

let us be free this very day!”

They exclaim as to Hell they fall

Freedom is only found in God

The man who calls his bondage free

    Has believed Satan’s facade

    He deserves the Lord’s mockery

His anger shakes their very bones

Their ears tremble to hear His voice

God’s Word falling on them as stones

Railing against them for their choice

He will set His King above all

    Jesus the Christ, Anointed one!

At this name, they will surely fall

The Holy, high, God’s chosen Son

The covenant God speaks to me

    Begotten, of the same substance

This is my Son who sets men free

He comes to fulfill my justice

All He must do is ask the Lord

    The nations, His inheritance

Of His treasures He will afford

The earth from the Lord’s providence

He will rule them all with His rod

Mankind can either bow or break

Over all the Earth where man does trod

Come, Anointed! Make the Earth shake

Hear my voice and make your path straight

This is His warning to you all

Judges and Kings, do not wait

All men must before the Son fall

    Fearfully serve Yahweh, your King

Tremble as the leaf in a storm

An offering of praise we sing

The He gives us time to reform

Honor the Son or feel His wrath

In Him we find our refuge

Find rather the Lord’s righteous path

Bless Him that He may bless you
